The June issue of Modern Dog Magazine has been released! I am SUPER thrilled to be both a writing and photography contributor in this issue: “6 Things to Help You Through Pet Loss Grief.”
I find that much like other creative endeavors, a passion for photography is really born from a feeling or connection to something that goes beyond description. We are drawn to things for a reason. We only have to pay attention and then embrace it whole-heartedly.
For me, my path in pet photography was first created from a place of deep grief and loss. I have always said that I feel my camera has been a healing agent for me. In turn, I know that when my clients invariably are dealing with their own grief from pet loss, they can look to the photographs we created together – Helping them to remember and connect with those moments in time. That is how us pet photographers are able to help others heal.
To write an article around Pet Loss Grief for Modern Dog Magazine is like coming full circle. One big fabulous, slobbery, inspiring, fun, sappy, sometimes deeply saddening, tearful, joyful, wouldn’t have it any other way, circle.

So true and inspiring to see how you turned sadness and grief into something wonderful and a way to help others!
